Stephen Sondheim was a lyricist, a composer, poet, and genius. But when asked if he had to choose another profession, what would be? And the answer was always the same. He would be a teacher. Among his many successes Sondheim became a mentor to others just as Oscar Hammerstein had been his guiding light for so many years. Stephen Sondheim wrote with compassion and hope for a better world. He taught others how to do the same. Despite the tragedies, he looked toward tomorrow, just as we do here at Harand Camp. This our time, he wrote, and this and future generations joining us must stand up for what is right and make this a better world for mankind.
